Passionate federal social media evangelists at the Center for Excellence in Digital Government at GSA are ramping up citizen engagement with the federal government and coaching federal agencies in how to best use social media.
Tammi Marcoullier, the Center’s Program Manager, and Justin Herman the Center’s new social media lead will discuss their innovative work enhancing community participation and creating engaging content.

Social Media is in many ways fundamentally changing the way government operates and making possible new and innovative ways to engage with the public.
The Center is responsible for providing government-wide support and training that help federal agencies deliver customer service to the public via web, social media, mobile, phone, email, print and newly evolving media. Subjects covered will include:
· Strategies used to increase citizen/ government engagement
· Social media platforms used
· How different Departments (ie Smithsonian Museum versus Homeland Security versus EPA) have different social media needs and strategies
· Measuring ROI and proving the value of Social Media
· Strategies for making a video go viral
